Food was all good, served hot and in good pacing from app to soup to entrée. Loved dining in the train car and seeing everything decorated for the holidays. 1st timer and will be back for sure!
Broiled fish was very good. Waiter was fun, sharp interactive with our group. The place was "hopping" with pre-gamers for the high school football game.
The drinks and food were very good. But we were surprised to see how young the bartender looked. She had long dark hair which she kept fiddling with. She finally got it in a ponytail, but she never washed her hands. Who wants a lime squeezed into their drink by someone who had just been running their hands through their hair? Not me! Also, this little girl payed way more attention to men than she did to female customers. It was difficult to get her attention when we wanted new drinks. I'd still go back to Chessie's though. It's the best place around when I'm in Barrington to visit my relatives. My family goes there all the time.
Tasty, American-style food, and an adorable passenger train car in which to enjoy! Service was spot-on for an early Saturday afternoon. Should I be up in Barrington again, I'd definitely stop here (back of the Ice House Mall.)
So we went during the middle of the week. had a recommendation from mom that their burgers were good. so that's what I chose. It was actually perfect. Do You ever have that craving for something? While I did and it was spot on. Had beautiful girl marks and it wasn't overcooked. we also ordered nachos those were good to. by the time dinner came I wasn't super hungry so I packed up half my burger to start and it was good leftover too. I didn't have room for dessert chocolate that looks so good. And actually it was so big. I did eat it for I think two days after it was again such a great combination of chocolates. Definitely fun with the presentation. My friend had chicken Parmesan, cup of soup and a piece of cheesecake with strawberries I believe it was all really good. There were no leftovers on that side of the table. I had a glass of wine recommended by the server and it was delicious. We did sit in the train car that was so much fun. It was a really neat experience. service was fantastic. There was one server look like for the whole train car or possibly the whole restaurant and she ran and ran and ran the whole time and she kept her friendly attitude. Definitely a very nice server. She was phenomenal. it's kind of a secret little hidden gem. It's in a location You would never expect to find it but definitely worth a try. Might be fun to go. Also, when the mall is open and check out some of the fun stores.
I've never had a bad experience at Chessie's. From the fun of dining inside a train car to the good food and service, I have no complaints! If you've never eaten at Chessie's, it's definitely worth trying. Request a table in the train car for the full experience and so you can say you've eaten there!
